How To Change Your Reality by Maturing, Expanding and Growing

Change occurs consciously or unconsciously. The level of self-awareness you have largely determines if life is perceived to be happening to you or life is happening in you. Though change happens constantly, most people are unaware of how they are contributing to their current life circumstances. It is only when we reach a point in our journey where we feel stuck, frustrated, confused, or scared that we take the time to ask, “How did I end up here?”

Though it appears that life ‘just happened’, the truth is that we are exactly where we created ourselves to be. Life can operate by no other principle.

We all have our limits. When we reach a level of frustration that is too painful to bear, we find ourselves ready to make conscious changes in our life. This requires immense courage and total honesty. When an individual is honest enough to ask themselves how they arrived at their current circumstances two things occur: 1) they take responsibility for their current life situation and 2) they open themselves to receiving the answer and a solution to their problem.

Our Inner Programs

As mentioned in my previous post of Dare To Free Yourself From Limiting Beliefs, the mind is the creator of your reality and the programs that you have downloaded are called beliefs. When we accept a belief as true this colors our perception in every interaction we have. Thus, it can be said that most people live their lives through unconscious self-fulfilling prophecies of their own making.

When you go through life unconsciously you allow these programs to run in the background filtering every experience you have with previous data from a past encounter. Thus in effect, you are living the same experiences over and over again. These universal difficulties may include: finding a romantic partner, the continuing struggle for financial freedom, chronic physical ailments and diseases, cycles of frustration and depression, working at a lifeless job, not having a sense of passion or zest for life, confusion as to who or what you are really are, etc. These repeated patterns are seeking your attention.

No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.” – Albert Einstein

When we sincerely take the time to ask ourselves how we ended up in a given situation we open ourselves up to receiving new information. This new information comes in the form of advice, coincidental encounters with people, seeing a book or movie pop up over and over again with a certain topic or theme, being asked to stretch ourselves at work, seeing someone that needs your help with a similar issue, being called to travel to a new place, a stranger offering their help at the perfect time and place, etc. These are the ways in which the universe speaks to us and answers our questions in a way that we can pay attention to. When we open ourselves to receiving new data and information to integrate within ourselves, we change.

The Power of Imagination and Visualization in Reality Formation

Change does not happen overnight. The process of reality formation first begins with a new inkling that things may be different from what we’ve previously known to be true. In the beginning change is extremely subtle and starts with a new belief or program that has entered into our minds. Often times this new belief circulates as a new thought and builds in a momentum of intensity over a period of time. As we play with this new belief (ex: I deserve – to be listened to, to feel safe, to be loved, to have a job I love, to be healthy, to be happy) we start to visualize specific scenarios in which we embody this new belief. This is called day dreaming and imagination.

We may visualize meeting someone exciting and new, finding that perfect job, speaking to a large auditorium of people on a subject we are passionate about, feeling physically pain free and revitalized, having enough energy to play with the kids and pets, going running, painting, cleaning the house, getting paid what you are worth, etc. All this imaginary work is vital to establishing a new paradigm of reality. Being able to actively visualize a new future-self living your dream life brings the courage and necessary energy to build this new reality into physical manifestation. Repeated imagination of a given thought, scenario, encounter, or experience will eventually bring it into your current life.

“The amount of time it takes for something to manifest is different for everyone and is largely dependent on how focused your mind is and how much energy you have at your disposal.” – Liz Hancock

This is how change occurs in everyone. It is a subtle process that largely goes without notice, yet it is operating in consciousness constantly. When we decide to work with a Spiritual Life Coach, we take this process into our own hands and accelerate it. A Coach is an expert in asking provocative questions that challenge your current mindset and belief systems. A Coach provides insight into your current life circumstance and offers new ways to think, act and behave which sets a client off towards living a more satisfied and fulfilled life that is in line with their personal aspirations and dreams.

To be conscious or unconscious, that is the question! The process of questioning our reality and beliefs is an ongoing progressive process that occurs throughout our lives. This is how life is meant to be lived; constantly maturing, expanding, and growing into ever newer, better versions of ourselves.

How Can Energy Be Read Remotely?

A common question I receive is: How can you tune into someone’s energy without a live session?

Energy doesn’t require physical proximity to be perceived. Just as you can sense someone’s presence in a room without them speaking, or feel the mood shift when a person enters a space, your energetic field holds information.

As a long-time meditator and highly attuned yogi, I connect with the universal field of consciousness through deep meditative attunement. This allows me to access what is most relevant to you at this time—what needs to come into awareness for faster processing, integration, and growth.

Nothing is revealed that isn’t meant for these purposes. Your higher self is aware of this energetic exchange, and by requesting a reading, you give conscious permission for this work to unfold.

Rather than relying on conversation, I directly access this field, translate what is most relevant, and put it into words. This is an energetic reading, not based on questions and answers, but on deep connection.

Why This Reading is Written, Not Live

Some people wonder if a live Zoom session is necessary. The truth is, it isn’t—because energy speaks beyond words.

Instead of a fleeting conversation, this report offers something deeper—an eight-page personalized reading that you can revisit, reflect on, and integrate at your own pace. Many find that the written format allows for greater clarity, as they can absorb the insights over time rather than feeling rushed to process them in a single session.

Who This Is For (and Who It’s Not For)

This reading is for those who:

  • Trust that the right insights come at the right time.
  • Are open to receiving energy work in a non-traditional format.
  • Want to deepen their self-awareness and move through blocks.

This reading may not be for those who:

  • Need real-time verbal validation.
  • Are looking for physical confirmation rather than intuitive insight.
  • Prefer structured coaching over a self-guided integration process.

What You Will Receive

Your eight+ page Spiritual Awareness & Integration Reading is not a generic tarot reading—it is a fully channeled, personalized exploration of your energetic state at this moment in time.

It includes:

  • A deep energetic reflection—a map of where you stand on your spiritual path.
  • Personalized affirmations and insights to help you process and integrate your current experience.
  • Journal prompts to enhance self-inquiry and bring clarity after receiving your reading.
  • An exploration of what is supporting or hindering your growth—the unseen forces at work.
  • A look at limiting beliefs, outdated narratives, or subconscious resistance so you can release what no longer serves you.
  • The key lessons your soul is ready to integrate at this time.
  • Insights into surrender, trust, and divine flow—understanding where you are still holding on to control.
  • A focus on inner wisdom, self-awareness, and deep energetic alignment—so that you no longer seek answers outside yourself but recognize them as already within.

What This Reading Is Not

This is not a fortune-telling reading. It does not predict when you will meet your soulmate, get a raise, or move to a new home.

Instead, this reading provides:

  • Awareness and truth, not superficial reassurance.
  • Clarity on your current state, not guesses about the future.
  • A path to integration and transformation, not a quick fix.

If you are looking for a deeply reflective, truth-centered, and transformative experience, this reading is for you.

Why Is This an Investment in Your Growth?

Unlike fleeting conversations or surface-level readings, this offering provides a lasting resource for self-inquiry and transformation.

It is designed to guide you through deep awareness and integration, serving as a map for your spiritual journey.

If This Resonates With You…

If this resonates, your reading will be a deep reflection of your energetic state—guiding you toward clarity, alignment, and integration.

And if it doesn’t feel aligned, that’s okay too—this work meets those who are ready.

How To Build Trust In Yourself & Your World

We hear a lot of,

“You need to trust yourself”

“It’s important to build trust”

“Why can’t you just trust me?”

What does it mean to trust?

From a spiritual perspective trust simply refers to acceptance. Acceptance of what is. To not accept what is, is to create unnecessary pain and suffering.

But many people confuse acceptance with slavery. If we just accept everything, doesn’t that make us weak? Doesn’t that make me a doormat? Am I not naive to simply accept everything as it is?

Spirituality is not about being a weak doormat nor is it about changing the world.

Spirituality is being in tune with your nature and having enough conscious awareness (energy) to use your discernment in order to navigate life properly.

Trust is knowing that what is happening is what is supposed to happen because it is happening.

Trust in oneself is allowing yourself to express, feel, and know whatever you are consciously aware of and to allow this expression to reveal itself without hindrance.

Building trust with any person, place, or thing is simply living each moment open, aware, and free.

Trusting someone is staying consciously aware of the present moment and allowing yourself to express as you deem necessary.

Trust requires energy. Trust requires consciousness. Trust requires awareness.

Trust does not mean to be sleep walking your way through life and allowing someone else to make your decisions.

Trust does not mean to give up your power to anything outside yourself in exchange for safety, peace, or love.

Trust is the ultimate freedom because when you trust, you are in synch with your deepest Self; your innermost core, and therefore as the microcosm reflects the macrocosm, you are in synch with creation.

To trust means to walk powerfully in this world.

We exist to experience, to know, to taste, to live. Are you living your life or allowing someone else to dictate how you live your life?

Are you calling the shots and trusting yourself or are you willingly giving your power away to someone or something else?

How Do We Build More Trust?

Trust comes from conscious awareness and we build this by centering ourselves.

There are many ways and means to practice centering oneself but one of the most consistent and powerful practices is meditation.

Meditation is the conscious stilling of the mind and body. When you become still you trust. When you trust you become still. These are two different sides of the same coin.

When you feel confused, anxious, scared, or depressed you are not trusting. You are hiding and running away from what is.

Building trust through the power of meditation is the number one way to feel more in control, balanced, self-aware, and powerful.

Listening to Your Inner Wisdom

Inner Wisdom

If we all knew how to access the deep inner wisdom that we all have, then we wouldn’t have a need for doctors, therapists, or spiritual teachers.

This doesn’t mean that we have no need for outside assistance. We all had to learn our ABC’s and how to count. But when we are talking about body awareness, mental health, and spiritual growth, these all fall within the realm of inner knowing and intuition.

Our bodies are simply an extension of our mind. If you want to get an understanding of who someone is just take a look at the vehicle they are using. In most cases, the body reveals your past, your present, and can even predict your future if you pay close enough attention.

This reminds me of a quote that used to flash across the screen at my old gym, “What you eat in private is what we see in public.”

Similarly to the body, we can also sense, feel, and know anything we wish through our sensitivity to energy. Our aura is the unseen extension of us. Though we may think we are hiding certain aspects of ourselves, everything is accessible through the quality of our energetic aura.

This energy field cannot and does not lie. If one is sensitive enough you can simply feel the energy field around someone and know everything you need to know. Words are actually a very primitive mode of communication. They often confuse and complicate things. Energy on the other hand, is always crystal clear.

I mention all the above because whatever assistance we need, in whatever capacity, whether it be diet, mental health, or spiritual awakening; it is always accessible from within. We don’t need to seek what is already within us, from the outside.

Yet, because we don’t know how to access this inner wisdom we turn to doctors, therapists or spiritual teachers.

Connecting To Our Inner Wisdom

So, how do we strengthen the connection to our inner wisdom? What can we do? How do we do it?

Well, first you will need to be ok with being alone. Alone doesn’t translate to ‘lonely’. Alone simply means having no one else present.

Being alone with your mind, body, emotions, and energy is extremely enlightening. In order to know what you need to work on and what direction and guidance you need, you first need to understand what you’re working with.

When you are alone with yourself you pay attention to your physical body, thoughts, habits, and ways of reacting to things. We gain immense self-awareness through being alone as well as strengthen the connection to ourselves.

Being alone allows for deep reflection and contemplation. We can reflect on our behavior, our tendencies, the language we use and words we choose, the friends we keep, the relationships we form, the food we eat, the home we inhabit, the lifestyle we live.

Without this alone time and greater self-awareness, we are lead to believe that we are the product of unforeseen circumstances. There are many that have settled into the notion that our upbringing, parents, genetics, or environment are to blame.

However through being alone we can truly take the time to contemplate on how we arrived at exactly where we at in our lives. Through reflection and contemplation we can see that everything that has happened, occurred through moment-by-moment choices. Perhaps some more conscious than others.

Right now, we are living the consequences of each of these moment-by-moment choices

The paradox to living joyfully is accepting responsibility of your life and this is precisely the reason why so many people are unhappy and depressed. They refuse to take responsibility for their body, mind, emotions, and energetic state.

Being alone allows for deep reflection and contemplation. We courageously face all facets of our selves and we slowly integrate them. We become more self-aware. We mature, grow, and expand our consciousness.

Being alone and having the courage to self-reflect is all you need to strengthen your connection to your own innate inner wisdom. With consistent practice, your connection to your inner wisdom will be so strong that you will intuitively know what are the right foods for you to eat, what people are best to commune with, where to best focus your time, how to exercise the body, what skill to learn, what job to take, how best to execute a plan, and how to live your best life.

There is no cookie-cutter answer to create joy or wisdom. As everyone is different there are millions of ways to go about creating joy for oneself.

Do yourself a favor and spend some time alone today.

Inner Wisdom and Solitude

Start small and get a journal.

Write down your impressions, thoughts, feelings, and fears.

Keep up the practice everyday.

Learn to form a relationship with your Self.

Learn to look forward to this alone time.

Learn to appreciate the inner gift of higher wisdom.

And when you are so filled with joy that you feel you could burst,…

Go ahead and start spreading and shining that joy unto others.

The Virtue of Paying Attention

I recently attended a local bike coalition charity dinner and auction for the third year in a row as my husband is an avid cyclist. As we made our way to our table, I recognized two familiar faces. I smiled and reached out my hand to say hello but before I could the woman said to me, “Hello, nice to meet you. You must be new. I’m Virginia.” I was amused as I said, “We’ve met twice before. I’m Liz, I was here last year and the year before.” The woman looked genuinely confused but smiled politely and then hurriedly looked down into her phone to gauge where she was at in the online bidding war for her new bike bench.

As the night continued, I enjoyed small talk with the couple and asked about their previous year’s winnings, she, a light reflector jacket for cycling and him a new helmet. They both were surprised yet touched that I remembered such small details.

This experience happens quite frequently where I remember faces seen just once or recall a conversation nearly word for word. People tend to think that I have some amazing memory but in fact I simply pay attention. Wherever I am or find myself to be, I give total uncompromising attention to my present experience. This is not something that I consciously aim to do. This is a natural consequence and result of many years of meditation and subsequent slowing down of internal thoughts in order to allow the present moment to shine through.

Why Paying Attention Matters – Effortless Grace and Ease

Our bodies and minds are tools that we use to navigate this reality. Many people are so deeply identified with their bodies and minds that their awareness and attention is solely focused on these two dimensions exclusively. If all your energy is focused on your body (five senses including: sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch) or your mind (random thoughts, excited emotions, past memories and future projections) then that leaves very little energy to actually pay attention and be aware of your world.

Increasing your available energy to pay 100% attention to your present experience is what mindfulness, or a sustained meditation practice is all about. Spiritual or conscious evolution is essentially increasing your capacity and capability to be fully aware and attentive to your present surroundings.

One may wonder why paying attention is such a valuable commodity. The reason is because, if you offer uncompromising awareness and attention to your present experience you will navigate life without unnecessary negative consequences, pitfalls, or limitations.

A fully conscious person is not immune to negative circumstances or events, but their higher perceptions and increased clarity allow them more options to seek a solution to whatever challenge is currently presented to them. People that are heavily influenced by their body senses and/or internal thoughts do not have enough energy to clear the space for more options. Options come from clarity of mind and one can act far more efficiently, effortlessly and intelligently than those who struggle to see the forest from the trees.

Some years ago, when my grandmother was still alive, I received a frantic phone call from my aunt telling me that my grandmother was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. At the time my grandmother was 92 years old. I was sad to hear this, but I knew that my grandmother wouldn’t live forever and that her body was starting to break down and cancer had overtaken her normally healthy immune system. To my surprise my aunt then told me that my grandmother’s doctor recommended a mastectomy as soon as possible in order to stop the cancer from spreading. As I listened, I heard many thoughts pop up into my mindscape; ‘She is too old for such an invasive procedure’, ‘this sounds like an over the top and drastic solution’, ‘there must be another way to go about treating this’. I calmly described each of these ideas to my aunt, but she was overcome with emotion and almost desperate to get the appointment scheduled for my grandmother to go have her mastectomy immediately.

My aunt even went so far as to describe in vivid detail a nonexistent wound that would swell and fester and create much unnecessary pain for my grandmother. My aunt was very much sold on the idea of the emergency mastectomy and was defending her position by trying to convince me that this was the right direction to take. Yet, I remained calm and steady as I listened to her words. When I realized that my aunt wouldn’t listen to any other alternative, I simply said, “at least get another opinion from a highly credited geriatric oncologist to see what other options we have.” The phone went silent and my aunt had nothing to say. It never occurred to her to seek a 2nd opinion much less discover an alternative treatment.

A week later my aunt called me again to tell me that they went to see another oncologist at Loyola Hospital, and she prescribed noninvasive hormone therapy in order to shrink the small tumor. Both my grandmother and aunt elected for this option and things soon settled back to normal.

How to Develop A Clear Mind

We live in a physical universe governed by physical laws. Our bodies require food for energy and sleep for rejuvenation and repair. Money is the currency we use to live in a house, buy food, purchase clothes, and drive a car. We earn a living in various ways depending on capability, experience, and or intellect.

Developing a clear mind is no different from losing weight or earning a master’s degree. One needs to do the prescribed actions on a consistent basis in order to actualize results. The only question is, are you dedicated, disciplined, and motivated enough to put forth the necessary effort to live more consciously?

We don’t have to worry about beating our heart to pump our blood to our various organs, muscles and brain. Life and existence have taken this burden from us. Likewise, we don’t manage our breathing or think about consciously filling our lungs with enough oxygen in order to keep us alive. This happens for us and is a gift from existence to not be burdened with this internal process. Everything happens for us so we may free up our minds to explore creation as we see fit. Thus, it goes as no surprise that the most ancient and simple method for developing a clear mind is to watch our breath.

Watching our breath can be done anytime anywhere and it is done exactly as described. Watch. Your. Breath. It is that simple. We are not deep breathing; we are not managing the process. We are simply being aware of our breath. Being aware of this consistent process regularly trains the mind to be in the present moment. If we are in the present moment we are not thinking of the past or remembering a previous event or experience, we are not imagining a potential future, we are not participating in a nonexistent conversation with someone in our heads, we are not worrying, we are not debating, we are not fantasizing, we are not day dreaming. We are simply watching our breath.

At first one may perform this exercise sitting with eyes closed. This will lead one through the classic stages of Dharana and Dhyana (concentration and classic meditation) and perhaps Samadhi (various levels of bliss attainment beyond mind/body awareness). When you feel comfortable doing this exercise sitting down you can graduate to watching your breath as you go about your daily routine. To many this suggestion sounds impossible, but trust me, with enough practice this becomes a natural state of consciousness.

The Natural Excitement and Wonder Of Existence

When you go about your day being aware of your breath you are in the present moment and seeing only what the present moment and experience brings to you. Thus, your level of awareness increases and your attention to detail grows.

You notice things you weren’t aware of before, the smell of flowers, the way the sunlight dances across the sidewalk, the gentle breeze through your hair and across your face. You hear a child laughing or a bird singing. You notice the insect crossing your path or see the wise old man watching you on the bench. You notice the woman talking fast because she’s nervous and needs assurance or the executive on the phone to a customer and sense he is telling a fib to get an unfair advantage. You notice the runner coming towards you and you can see, sense, feel and know their exuberance of being alive in a body that is strong, capable and free.

Life is full of excitement without looking for it. We just need to be attentive and the only way we can do this is to cultivate a mind that is clear, calm, and ready to work at our command – not the other way around.
